Executive Coach & Leadership Advisor

Developing people, not just managing outcomes.

My mission is simple — I exist to help people do more than they thought possible. Successful executives and young adults each require a different lens on what growth and success look like. Above all, I stay focused on my mission rather than outcomes, believing that this focus is what lets the real work, and real results, follow.

The Story

30 years in the corporate arena before stepping into coaching.

Before coaching, I spent over 30 years building and leading high-performing sales and client teams across consumer-packaged goods, cellular telecommunications, and professional services industries. For 15 of those years, I served in senior executive roles, most recently as Vice President, Client Services at Advantage Solutions, with stops along the way at Mars Canada, Campbell’s, Baby Gourmet, and Mastronardi Produce.

Along that path, I sold iconic brands like Snickers, M&M’s, and Campbell’s Soup, launched a national cellular service from scratch, and led teams as large as 900 people across Canada. I’ve lived the pressure of quarterly board reviews, the complexity of managing multi-hundred-million-dollar portfolios, and the friction that inevitably arises when corporate strategy outpaces team alignment.

"My corporate career taught me plenty about strategy and results. What I discovered was that the most fulfilling work I’d ever done was developing people and not managing outcomes. So, I put a bow on my corporate career to dedicate my time supporting others."

— James Holden

Clients tell me I don’t force breakthroughs; I create the conditions where they occur naturally. They describe the experience as "peeling back the onion" until we’ve reached the real issues running the show. Clients also speak of feeling so completely heard that, as one executive put it, the conversations themselves are restorative.

I build trust over multiple sequential conversations, asking patient, insightful questions, and staying with a topic until genuine insights emerge.
